Intro: Where to Stream A24 Films

This post was last updated on July 5th, 2023 to reflect Showtime's integration with Paramount+ and HBO Max's rebrand.

As a studio that’s independent from any major media conglomerate, A24 has struck out on its own and developed a cult following in the process. Dubbed “cinema’s coolest studio” by Esquire, A24 is known for its daring, if not sometimes polarizing, arthouse faire.

As a private company, their work in film and television isn’t limited to a single streaming service but can be found scattered across multiple outlets. Here we’ve compiled a roadmap of sorts, that tells you exactly where you can stream A24 films online, including some free options.

Shall I Stream It is viewer-supported and provides honest reviews. To support this work, some links feature partners where commission is earned for purchases.

Paramount+ with Showtime

For most of the A24 theatrical releases after 2016, you’ll need a subscription to Paramount+ with Showtime. Showtime has now fully integrated with Paramount+, with the Paramount+ Premium plan being replaced by “Paramount+ with Showtime.”

Paramount+ with Showtime is the only on-demand streaming subscription service (at the time of publication) that includes movies such as Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, X, After Yang, Men, Lamb, Zola, Minari, Pearl, Bodies Bodies Bodies, and Everything Everywhere All at Once.

You'll also find A24-produced television series such as Ziwe, Moonbase 8, and the upcoming series The Curse starring Nathan Fielder and Emma Stone.

Max

You can find a selection of A24 movies from 2016 and earlier on the streaming service formerly known as HBO Max

These include Green Room, The Witch, Tusk, Ex-Machina, Under the Skin, Amy, and The Spectacular Now. There’s also movies and TV shows made exclusively for HBO such as Native Son, Euphoria, Irma Vep, and the controversial series The Idol.

Apple TV+

A24 has a deal with Apple to co-distribute and produce exclusive films for Apple TV+. So far these have included projects such as The Elephant Queen, Boys State, On the Rocks, The Tragedy of Macbeth, Causeway, Stephen Curry: Underrated, and Sharper.

TV series produced by A24 include Mr. Corman and Home as well as the upcoming series Sunny starring Rashida Jones.

Netflix

The king of streaming has also worked with A24 on some exclusive TV series and films. Shows include comedy specials from John Mulaney and Ali Wong, the dramedy series Mo, and the upcoming comedy-drama Beef that will premiere at this year’s SXSW.

A24 Films that have been distributed exclusively through Netflix include last year’s White Noise and the upcoming documentary The Deepest Breath which recently premiered at Sundance.

Stream A24 Films for Free

You can watch some of the older A24 films through free streaming services without any advertising thanks to a network of public libraries and universities. Both Kanopy and Hoopla stream movies such as The Bling Ring, The Florida Project, Midsommar, The Lighthouse, 20th Century Women, and American Honey.
