Shall I Stream It will be covering this year’s South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, TX! The event, which occurs from March 10th-19th, 2023 features a Film and TV Festival, Music Festival, Comedy Festival, and conference featuring renowned speakers and interactive exhibits.
It’s a little bit of everything rolled into one big event but we’ll be focusing specifically on all things film and television. Big streaming services like Paramount+, Prime Video, HBO Max, Hulu, and Peacock will all be premiering new projects at the fest.
What to Expect at this Year's SXSW Film & TV Festival
Headlining films this year include Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Evil Dead Rise, Problemista, Flamin’ Hot, Bottoms, Joy Ride, and Tetris. There’s the horror flick Appendage which will debut later this year on Hulu, a documentary about the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special, and a work-in-progress screening of a new Robert Rodriguez film.
As for TV, there’s the new Disney+ show American Born Chinese, yet another limited series about the ax-murdering Candy Montgomery from HBO Max, Peacock’s drama Mrs. Davis, Paramount’s Kiefer Sutherland-starring Rabbit Hole, and Roku’s multiverse dramedy Slip.
In-person experiences at the festival include a real-life Roku City complete with a Roku diner, a camp inspired by the Showtime series Yellowjackets, a pop-up lodge themed around Paramount+, and an area from Amazon that will be transformed into “Prime, TX.”
