What’s New on Disney+ in July 2023

Disney has some new shows and movies arriving on their namesake streaming service this month including an animated anthology from African creators, more episodes of the Marvel series Secret Invasion, and a new Mickey Mouse special that celebrates Disney’s history.

Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire

Wednesday, July 5th

Animated sci-fi anthology that presents ten futuristic visions of Africa. Executive produced by Peter Ramsey (co-director of Spider Man: Into the Spider-Verse), the series features animators from six African countries and draws on the history and folklore of African cultures. One of multiple projects in the works from Disney that is co-produced by pan-African entertainment companies as the Mouse House invests in creators from the continent. 

Secret Invasion

New Episodes on Wednesdays

Set in the present-day Marvel Cinematic Universe, this show follows Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) as they uncover a conspiracy by renegade shapeshifting aliens to gain control of Earth by posing as different people around the world.

The Wonderful World of Micky Mouse: Steamboat Silly

Friday, July 28th

Animated special that serves as the conclusion to The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse. In it, Mickey and his friends must stop hundreds of classic Steamboat Willies from wreaking havoc across town.

The Slumber Party

Friday, July 28th

In what sounds like the kids’ version of The Hangover, a group of friends wake up after a slumber party with no memory of the previous night due to a “birthday party hypnotism gone wrong.” They must retrace their steps and find the missing birthday girl. 

TOMORROW X TOGETHER: Our Lost Summer

Friday, July 28th

Behind-the-scenes documentary that follows K-pop sensation TOMORROW X TOGETHER as they embark an international tour.
