Searchlight Pictures announced today that their biopic Flamin’ Hot will become the first feature film to debut on Hulu and Disney+ on the same day when it hits streaming on June 9th.

This follows its warm reception at SXSW where it received an Audience Award in the Headliner category. In our review, we called it a “hilarious feel-good flamin’ hit.”

Flamin’ Hot follows the story of Richard Montañez, a janitor in a Frito-Lay factory who works his way up the corporate ladder, forever changing the snack food industry by honoring his Mexican-American heritage. It marks actress Eva Longoria’s directorial debut.

Regarding the same day streaming premiere on Hulu and Disney+, Longoria said, “I’m so excited for the world to see Flamin’ Hot on these two streaming platforms making this universal, inspirational story accessible to an even wider audience. Now everyone can celebrate the joy, power and heart of this film that also happens to uplift Latinos both in front of and behind the camera.”
