Production on season 3 of Hulu’s hit series Only Murders in the Building has commenced, and with it we’ve got some intriguing new details. This article will cover everything you need to know about the third go-round for the mystery series including casting, plot details, premiere date, and more.

Who’s in the cast?
Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin are all set to return for the third season. As teased in the second season finale, the Ant-Man himself Paul Rudd will be joining the cast as a Broadway star named Ben Glenroy.
Andrea Martin is also set to return in her role as Joy. Meanwhile Grey’s Anatomy actress Jesse Williams will play a new character that is described as “a documentarian with a particular interest in the case that Mabel, Charles, and Oliver are working on.”
The biggest casting news is that living legend Meryl Streep is joining the cast as well. Streep and Martin previously costarred together in the rom-com It’s Complicated. Very little is known about what her role in the series will be (for now!)
When does Only Murders in the Building season 3 premiere?
We don’t have an official date yet, but from previous seasons we can take a guess. The first season began filming in December 2020 and then premiered in August 2021. Season two began filming in December of 2021 and then premiered in June of 2022.
With the third season’s production starting a little later than previous seasons (in January instead of December), it will possibly premiere by the late Fall of 2023.
What will Only Murders in the Building season 3 be about?
We don’t have an official synopsis just yet but the season two finale gives us numerous loose ends to cover. Notably there is the mystery of who killed Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd). Then there’s the aftermath of their discovery of who killed Bunny.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner John Hoffman has said that season three will lean into the “theatrical side of New York City.” Just as season one focused on Mabel and season two focused on Charles, he imagines season three will focus on “Oliver and his world.”

Will there be a season 4 of Only Murders in the Building?
Nothing has been announced yet, but since it remains a popular show with fans and critics alike, there’s a good chance of a season 4 renewal.
