While speaking to the Toronto Sun, director of The Batman Matt Reeves revealed that a second series is in the works for HBO Max that takes place in his movie’s Bat-universe, following the previously announced Penguin series.

Reeves told them “We’re doing [The Penguin series] and we’re doing another series that connects to Arkham [Asylum].” Now this statement is pretty vague, but it does indicate that the folks at Warner Bros. are actively seeking to expand the world of The Batman on HBO Max beyond just the Penguin show.

No release date has been set for either series, but details will likely begin to trickle out depending on the continued success of The Batman.

The Batman is currently showing in theaters and will be on HBO Max 45 days after in its initial theatrical release.
