It was a history making year at this year's Academy Awards as streaming services Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney Plus took home more awards than ever before.

Netflix picked up awards early in the night for Best Costume Design and Best Makeup and Hairstyling for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. They also won both Live Action Short Film and Animated Short film for Two Distant Strangers and If Anything Happens I Love You, respectively.

While the streaming giant missed out on the major awards, they did pick up Best Documentary Feature for My Octopus Teacher. The Netflix Original film Mank, meanwhile. picked up Oscars for Best Production Design and Best Cinematography.

Amazon meanwhile, got the Oscars for Best Sound and Best Editing for The Sound of Metal. Finally, the Disney Plus exclusive Soul won Best Animated Feature Film and Best Original Score.

While Nomadland is technically not a Hulu production, it is currently available to stream exclusively on Hulu. The film picked up Best Director for Chloé Zhao, Best Actress for Frances McDormand, and the biggest (although for some reason, not the final) award of the night, Best Picture.
