Here’s All the Big News from Netflix’s Tudum in 2023

In January 2020, Netflix held the first-ever Tudum event in São Paulo, Brazil. It was a massive event where Netflix brought all the stars of their upcoming movies and shows to announce what was ahead for the streaming giant. The fifth edition of Tudum happened over the weekend and below we share all the big news that went down at the massive festival.

Some of the biggest stars in the world came to announce their upcoming projects. From animated to TV series to action movies to reality TV, content for everyone was announced at this Netflix's Tudum 2023. It's one of the things that the streaming giant has always banked on with its unique and deep portfolio that entices audiences of all ages.

Movies

Lift – Jan. 12, 2024.

The latest from Kevin Hart's and Netflix's partnership comes a heist thriller that sees him lead a team to steal 500 million dollars worth of gold. F. Gary Gray directs the film and sees a band of criminals recruited to prevent a terrorist attached by robbing the rich. Starring alongside Hart is Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Billy Magnussen.

Rebel Moon – December 22, 2023

We got a behind-the-scenes look at Zack Snyder's latest film Rebel Moon. The film is being released in two different cuts (with one being the Snyder Cut) on December 22, with the second film being released soon, although they didn't announce the release date.

Extraction 3 – TBD

If you saw Extraction 2 over the weekend you know that this was coming but Chris Hemsworth and director Sam Hagrave announced that he will be back as Tyler Rake for the third film of the franchise.

Heart of Stone – August 11, 2023

Gal Gadot, Alia Bhatt, and Jamie Dornan closed the festivities by debuting the trailer for their upcoming action film Heart of Stone. The film follows Rachel Stone (Gadot), who works for a global peacekeeping agency who is racing to stop a hacker from stealing their most dangerous weapon.

TV

Netflix made some major TV announcements for some of their biggest shows, although no release dates were given. First we have Penn Badgley announced that season 5 of You is coming and Joe Goldberg is having to face some loose ends from his past.

Then, Lily Collins talked all things season 4 of Emily in Paris and how the show will shift to Rome. The series has so many open ended questions including will Emily and Gabriel finally get together.

Arnold Schwarzenegger announced we are getting a season 2 of Fubar. Although the series filming has stopped due to the writers strike, the team from Cobra Kai talked the sixth and final season.

Bridgerton Season 3

We know that the central focus of season three will be on the romance between Penelope and Colin. Of course, with Penelope being Lady Whistledown and Eloise knowing about it, the romance might have some bumps in the road. We did get our first look at the images from the series.

One Piece Series

The live-action series One Piece stars Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skylar were on hand to debut footage from the highly anticipated series releasing on August 31.

Love Is Blind Season 5

In the most exciting announcement for reality TV junkies (like me), we found out that Love is Blind Season 5 is coming and coming soon! Netflix announced it's very popular series that has singles matching behind walls to find love is returning in September and they released a teaser clip.

Stranger Things Season 5 Announcement

Like most of Hollywood, Stranger Things season 5 isn't filming due to the writers strike. However, it didn't stop them from announcing the huge news that Linda Hamilton has joined the cast of season 5.

Squid Game Season 2

We got the cast announcement for the second season of the HUGELY popular series Squid Game. The series sees the return of Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-Hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo, with new cast members Yim Si-Wan, Kang Ha-Neul, Park Sung-Hoon, and Yang Dong-Geun.

Squid Game: The Challenge

Netflix showed off a brief first look at the reality show based on its hit 2021 South Korean series. Squid Game: The Challenge will see 456 contestants competing in schoolyard games over ten episodes for the chance at $4.56 million. The series is set to debut in November of this year.

3 Body Problem – January 2024

A brand new series from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. and showrunner Alexander Woo released the teaser trailer for 3 Body Problem. They also revealed that the series will debut in January 2024. The sci-fi series is set in 1960s China, where a group of scientists forces them to face humanity's greatest threat.
