The Star Wars franchise is known for many iconic elements. One of the most familiar, though, is the legendary music scored by John Williams. Who can forget the explosive opening notes of the theme song during the opening credits for Star Wars or the menacing hum of The Imperial March?
Others have taken up the task of scoring Star Wars in recent years. Ludwig Göransson wrote the music for The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, winning Primetime Emmy Awards for the former.

It seemed the 90 year-old Williams might have passed on the reigns to other composers looking to score themes for a galaxy far, far away. Which makes this weeks report that he will be scoring the theme for Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney Plus not only exciting, but surprising as well.
Another reason this is a big coup for Disney is that Williams rarely composes for television. This indicates they might be pulling together the same level of resources they would for a blockbuster movie with a theatrical release.
John Williams has previously written music for seven Star Wars films and the Galaxy's Edge theme park. He won an Academy Award for Star Wars Episode VII: A New Hope in 1977.
Details on the music for Obi-Wan Kenobi are still pretty scarce. For now, it gives just another reason to be excited when the limited series drops on Disney Plus on May 25th.
