It's been a long time coming, but the Duffer Brothers have finally revealed the details on the upcoming season of Stranger Things.

Originally expected to arrive last year, production was delayed significantly in part due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Brothers described this as their most “challenging” season yet and said that the runtime for Strangers Things 4 is nearly twice as long as previous seasons.

Because of this super-sized season, the release will be split into two parts. Strangers Things 4 Volume 1 arrives on May 27th while Volume 2 arrives on July 1st.

Sadly, it was also revealed that Season 5 will be the last of the Stranger Things saga. Although, really, nothing is stopping Netflix from further milking the franchise with spin-offs in the future.

Per Netflix, the plot summary for Stranger Things 4 is as follows:

“It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn't made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.”

Netflix also released five different teaser posters which you can check out below.
