How to Stream the Oscars in 2021

It's been a weird year for cinema, and you know, the earth in general. Thankfully, the Oscars aren't cancelled this year despite the pandemic.

The Academy allowed more types of films than ever to be nominated, thanks to some rule changes. That means you can watch a number of this year's nominees on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu.

But if you're a “cord cutter” without a traditional cable subscription you might be wondering how to stream the Oscars this year. Here I've compiled a list of ways you can stream the Oscars.

Can I stream the Oscars on ABC.com or the ABC app?

Technically yes, but with a major caveat. You must sign in and confirm your subscription to a cable or satellite provider. So if you have “cut the cord” and cancelled cable you're out of luck.

The Oscars will stream live on ABC.com on Sunday, April 25th, 2021 at 8:00PM Eastern/5:00PM Pacific with pre show coverage all day starting at 1:00PM Eastern.

How Do I Stream the Oscars Without Cable?

There are a number of streaming services that carry ABC, and thus the Oscars. These include Hulu + Plus Live TV, YouTube TV, and fuboTV. fuboTV is a cable alternative that provides live streaming networks over the internet. I've previously reviewed them here.

Since fuboTV offers a seven day free trial, you can sign up for fubo and stream the Oscars for FREE.

Sign up for the free trial of fuboTV here.

Enjoy the Show, Darling!
